A familiar face is returning to T-Mobile Arena as the Vegas Golden Knights have re-signed Victor Olofsson to a one-year, $1.638 million contract. This marks the second stint for "Vegas Vic," who previously suited up for the Golden Knights during the 2024-25 campaign.
A Specialized Power-Play Trigger Man
The 30-year-old Swede is a pure sniper with a world-class one-timer from the right circle. Olofsson famously set an NHL record by scoring his first seven career goals on the power play. In his previous season with Vegas, he scored 15 goals and 29 points in just 56 games, while also posting a career-best +17 rating.
Replacing Pavel Dorofeyev
General Manager Kelly McCrimmon specifically targeted Olofsson to replace the power-play production lost when Pavel Dorofeyev was traded to the New York Rangers. While Olofsson is not a physical player and can be a defensive liability at even strength, his high hockey intelligence and ability to manipulate goaltenders' positioning make him an elite offensive specialist.
2026-27 Projection
Olofsson is projected to play a middle-six role and serve as a primary option on the first power-play unit. Having spent the 2025-26 season split between Colorado and Calgary, moving to the Flames as part of the blockbuster Nazem Kadri trade, Olofsson returns to a Vegas system where he previously found significant success. Fans can expect "Vegas Vic" to be a frequent contributor on the highlight reels this season under Head Coach Ryan Craig.
